FAQ

Questions, answered honestly

Honest expectations are the house style: the slow parts are named, the limits are stated, and nothing on this page is a promise we can't keep.

What does Sethhost actually do?

We handle the paperwork and host the infrastructure of your American business: state LLC filing handling, EIN paperwork including the no-SSN IRS fax workflow, operating agreement, domain and 5-page website, a configured US phone number, registered agent service, business mail scanning and forwarding, website care, and a compliance calendar with annual-report filing. One company, one bill — Launch is $499 one-time, Hosted is $79 per month, and the state filing fee is always shown separately.

Is Sethhost a law firm?

No. Sethhost is not a law firm and does not provide legal or tax advice. We handle formation paperwork at your specific direction; every filing is confirmed by the owner before submission. For tax matters we coordinate a partner CPA; for legal questions, consult a licensed attorney.

Which state should I choose — Pennsylvania, Wyoming, or Delaware?

We don't advise on state choice. Here are the facts, neutrally:

StateLLC filing feeAnnual cost
Pennsylvania$125$7/yr annual report (due Sep 30)
Wyoming$100$60/yr annual report
Delaware$110$300/yr franchise tax

The choice is yours; if you're unsure, consider consulting an attorney. Our intake quiz will show you these facts and record your choice — it will never recommend one.

I don't have a US Social Security number. Can I still form a US LLC?

Yes. Foreign founders routinely form US LLCs. The EIN step is different: without a US SSN, the EIN goes through the IRS fax workflow, which typically takes 15–25 business days. We handle the paperwork and track it; we never promise to shorten the IRS.

Who is my registered agent?

Our wholesale registered-agent partner, disclosed to you by name in your service agreement, is the registered agent of record for entities in every state we serve. Sethhost coordinates your service; we never hold ourselves out as the registered agent of record.

How long until my website is live?

14 days from when we have your content inputs. The Launch package includes a 5-page site: home, services, about, contact, and one conversion page. We'll publish real build-time data once we're serving founders — until then, 14 days is our build target from content handoff.

What about US taxes? What is Form 5472?

General information, not tax advice: foreign-owned single-member US LLCs generally must file a pro-forma federal return with Form 5472 each year, and the IRS penalty for a missing or late Form 5472 can reach $25,000 per year. Tax filing is delivered through a partner CPA — Sethhost coordinates intake and deadlines; the CPA files. That partner path must be live before your first filing obligation, and we'll tell you plainly if it isn't yet. For anything specific to your situation, consult a tax professional.

How are filings submitted? Does anything file automatically?

Nothing files on autopilot. Filings are prepared at your direction and confirmed by the owner before submission. You'll see what's being filed, when, and what it costs — including any state fee — before it goes.

Can I cancel the Hosted plan?

Yes — cancel anytime from your portal. Cancellation stops future monthly charges and takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No calls, no retention scripts. Launch is a one-time fee and doesn't renew.

Do you guarantee bank accounts or payment processing?

No. We prepare you for onboarding with providers like Mercury or Wise — documents organized, entity details straight — but approval is the provider's decision and we can't promise it. Banking is guidance, not a guarantee.

What do you need from me to get started?

The intake quiz gathers the basics: your country of residence, business type, state choice, name, and email. To file, we'll need identity details and documents (such as a passport) handled under our data-security baseline — encryption in transit over HTTPS, least-privilege access, single-use sign-in links, and a retention schedule. See our privacy policy for the full picture.

How does my business mail work?

Official mail sent to your registered office or business address is received, scanned, and routed to you through your client portal, with notifications so nothing sits unopened. Physical forwarding follows the policy in your service agreement. Junk is never forwarded.
